Freight Elevator Doors
ELEVATORS
Built for Strength. Trusted for Performance.
Our heavy-duty freight elevator doors are sourced from trusted manufacturers and engineered for rugged industrial use, delivering reliable, long-lasting performance in the toughest environments.
freight doors
Freight doors are the vertical bi-parting type with the top half going up and the bottom hald going down. Each half counter-balances the other. These doors are designed to operate on guides which provide a very smooth and easy to operate door system. With the door fully open, the borron door serves as a load supporting sill that allows loads to be moved in and out of the car. The door width is normally the full width of the care interior. With the unique guide operation, the manually operated doors move very easily and smoothly. Power operated landing doors and car gates are also available with the same guide operation. Labeled interlocks are provided that comply with most ambient conditions including corrosive and explosive areas.
Passenger Doors
Horizontal sliding doors are specifically designed for passenger elevators and are not recommended for industrial settings.
freight elevator and loading classes
Calculations for stresses in the platform members (and doors) of freight elevators are based on the following concentrated loads assumed to occupy the position which will produce the maximum stress:
Class A loading
General freight loading: Load is handled on and off the car platform manually or by means of hand trucks. Single piece of freight not more than 25% of rated load.
Class B loading:
Where the elevator is used solely to carry automobile trucks or passenger automobiles up to the rated capacity of the elevator.
Class C1:
Industrial truck loading: Where the static load during loading and unloading does not exceed the rated load
Class C2:
Industrial truck loading: Where the static load during loading and unloading is permitted to exceed the rated load.
Class C3:
Other loading with heavy concentrations: Where the static load during loading and unloading does not exceed the rated load.
